If we cannot agree on what is art, perhaps we can agree that there is something very spiritual about the human desire to create, when it is sincere; and that for every crass opportunist selling not art but his ego, there is a quiet soul working by a measure different from his fellows. It is called art only because we don’t have another word for it.
